The Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) Congo River is the largest one in the DEME fleet. The vessel is 168m long and has a hopper capacity of 190 m3, which is the equivalent of 12 Olympic-size swimming pools. It has completed several dredging & reclamation projects in the APAC region and is berthing in Singapore for maintenance and repair works. It is a fantastic opportunity to visit this highly specialized dredging vessel.
OPTIONAL TRANSPORT: The vessel is located at ST Marine Tuas Yard in western Singapore. It is relatively remote so BLCC provides optional transport by van leaving from MRT station Dhoby Ghaut at 9.30 (sharp!). The van is expected to be back at MRT station Dhoby Ghault at 12.30 pm. More information on practical arrangements will follow after registration.
